Special Council Budget Meeting
January 31st, 2018
1. OPENING MEETING
Chairperson Ivan Blanchard called the meeting to order at 6;00 P.M.

Present:
Ivan Blanchard – Chairperson
John Gillis – Councillor
Robin Gillis- Councillor
Pat MacLellan – Councillor
Joan Arsenault – Councillor
Ricky Myers- Councillor
Michelle Perry- Administrator

January 30th meeting was cancelled due to weather.
2. Fire Department Budget deputy Chief Paul Perry presented the 2018 budget for the Fire Department. Travel budget was up looking to send Chief or deputy to Ottawa for the Memorial service.
Training Budget was up 3 fire fighters taking their level 1, Need Medical first responders recertified and the fire fighters need to have Jaws training.
Equipment/ repairs and maintenance is up the All the Scott packs need servicing.
Equipment budget is up they need to get flash lights and brackets for the trucks 3 new bunker gear 3 pagers and a Dispatch Services for 2 trucks and a new AED machine cause there’s 15 years old.
Council thanked Paul for coming and he left the meeting.
Council discussed the budget for the Fire Department and have decided to think about this and bring it up at the next budget meeting.
Honorariums and salary increases. Council has discussed this and decided not to increase Council Honorariums. They have decided to increase staff salary by 3% except the Administrator which will get 5%.

MOTION moved by John Gillis seconded by Pat MacLellan and carried,
THAT the Council Honorariums no be increase this year and that Salary for staff be preliminary approved increased to 3% except for the Administrator which will be increased by 5%.
Budget numbers were given and they will be taken back and put in the system for the next meeting to see where the Community stands before the budget is presented to the residents and passed for the 2018 budget.

Council also discussed having Bobby and Monty keep and eye on the garbage’s and when they are full to have an extra pick up done.
Door at the Fire Hall: It was brought up that since Blaine Gallant was not going to be able to do
the work on the Fire hall since he was off on disability, and that it needs to be fixed before there is more damaged done that the contract be given to Wellington Construction. Michelle will contact Wellington Construction to let them know.

MOTION moved by Pat MacLellan seconded by Ricky Myers and carried,
THAT the contract for the door replacement and the repairs on the leak on the wall be given to Wellington Construction.
