Upgrades to East Lagoon

1. OPENING MEETING
Mayor Albert Gallant called the meeting to order at 1:30 P.M.

Luc Van Hul WSP and Maintenance Monty MacAusland:
Council had some questions about what was needed for Generators and Alarming Systems at the East Lagoon. Luc explained what the system does and what he thought the community should do. He advised that the Community should have a emergency plan in case the system goes down. He advised that 1 generator can not run the 2 systems as lift station is 1 phase and the lagoon is 3 phase. He suggested that we get feedback as to how long the lift station can be down before it needs to be pumped, and how big are the holding tanks there. Luc did recommend that both system have an alarming system so that we know when it is down instead of relying on someone to see a red light and reporting it. And if a generator is to go in he would like to see it go in at the Lagoon and on the UV Lights that way the outflow is still being treated if the power is out. As the community can get fines for untreated outflow into the creek. Then if the Kingsmen Rd lift station is down we can get it pumped out or hook up a generator to clean it out, as we will know how long that station can be down before it needs to be pumped. Luc advised as per council to look into getting a price from Flight about the alarming, as they did do regular maintenance on the system years ago and they may have some of the information on it.
