2. FIRE DEPT – Tanker Replacement
Paul Perry reported that as a result of search on line for used tankers, two of our firemen
Mike Gallant who is a licensed mechanic and Billy Arsenault have volunteered to travel to Quebec to look at used tankers that are for sale by dealer Camions Lussicam. One truck is a used 2003 Irving tanker at a price of $35,000.00 but may sell for $33,000.00. There are also other tankers that Paul was able to find on line ranging in price from $44,000.00 for a 1999 tanker to $208,000.00 for a 2013 tanker. There are also several other used tankers at the dealership in Quebec and Mike and Billy said they would be prepared to drive up to inspect the available trucks and report back their findings. Their expenses would have to be covered. Following further discussion Council thanked Paul for his report and Paul then left the meeting.

Following discussion:

MOTION moved by Ivan Blanchard, seconded by Mike MacKinnon and carried,
THAT we pay the travel expenses for firemen, Mike Gallant and Billy Arsenault
to travel to Quebec to check out used tankers for a potential purchase.

Peter advised that Fire Chief Jason Woodbury advised that he will check to see when Mike Gallant and Billy Arsenault would be available to make the trip to Quebec and Paul can call the dealer to let them know that they will be coming up.

John reported that Preston Silliker wants to order a ‘pump seal kit’ for the lift station on Kinsmen Road at an estimated cost of $1,200.00 so we will have a spare one in case of a breakdown in the future. Council members agreed.
