RURAL MUNICIPALITY OF MISCOUCHE
Special Council Meeting
January 28th, 2019

1. OPENING MEETING
Mayor Albert Gallant called the meeting to order at 5;30 P.M.

Present:
Albert Gallant – Mayor
Allan Parks – Deputy Mayor
Jacqueline Lecky- Councillor
Pat MacLellan – Councillor
John Searle- Councillor
Ivan Blanchard- Councillor
Joan Arsenault – Councillor ( Absent)
Michelle Perry- Administrator

Albert Gallant advised that there was a ribbon cutting to officially open Cook’s Corner Restaurant on Thursday 2:00 pm and that whom ever can show up would be appreciated.

Allan Parks suggested that some of council show up to the dance on Saturday Night for Miscouche’s Family Fun Day as there is a meet and greet from 8:00-9:00 pm at the Miscouche Legion.

Council received a judgement renewal from an incident that stemmed from the Rec Center break in back in February 2009.

MOTION moved by Ivan Blanchard seconded by John Searle and carried
THAT the judgement against the defendant be renewed for another 10 years.

Fire Dues: Council discussed raising the fire dues in the out lying areas at the last meeting and a decision will need to be made before the end of the month.

MOTION moved by Ivan Blanchard seconded by John Searle and carried
THAT the request for the increase in Fire Dues in the outlying areas be increased by $10.00 a year for each category with the exception of Vacant lots they will stay at $5.00 a year.

Allan Parks had got a quote for 7 chairs and 1 table for the council chambers.

MOTION moved by Allan Parks seconded by John Searle and carried
THAT the community purchase 7 chairs and 1 table for the amount of $1888.30 taxes in.

Michelle was in contact with the Infrastructure about applying for Gas Tax to be used in upgrades at the East Lagoon as well as manholes that need to be replaced through out the community.

MOTION moved by Allan Parks seconded by Jacqueline Lecky and carried
THAT the community go forward in applying for the Capital Investment Plan to be able to use the Gas Tax money on Upgrades to the East Lagoon as well as manholes thought out the community.

Council went over the budget line for line to get an understanding as to how the budget works and how all the numbers add up to make the budget.
