Special Council Meeting
February 19, 2014
1. OPENING OF MEETING
Chairperson Peter Mallett called the meeting to order at 6:30 P.M.

John Gillis – Councilor
Ben Murphy – Councilor
Mike MacKinnon – Councilor
Judy Gallant – Administrator
2. Firehall Maintenance – Temp/Time Display Unit
John reported that he has made arrangements to have Wayne Bernard Electric come and
reroute the temp/time display unit sensor to the back of the building to try and correct the problem with the temperature reading. The cost will be approximately $200.00 to $400.00.
3. Community Account
Council discussed setting up arrangements with Consolidated Credit Union so that we can check our accounts on line. This arrangement would only be for “view only” purposes and not for any type of transactions. Access to this could be limited to only the signing officers.
4. Rec Centre
– Seniors Club and Church Fund Raiser – Council discussed the possibility of having the members of Senior’s Club and the Church doing a joint fund raising event at the Rec Centre. This event could include skits etc.
– Small Hall Festival – Council was advised that an application has now been filled out and faxed to the Small Hall Festival committee to add the Rec Centre as a venue for their shows during June.
5. Miscouche Family Day
The date will be Saturday, March 1st at the Rec Centre and will begin with a pancake breakfast followed by youth activities in the afternoon and an adult dance in the evening. The flyers will be sent out to all the residents right away.
6. Proposed 2014 Budget
After reviewing a draft copy of the 2013 financial statement which was prepared by our Accountants, BDO, Council members drafted a proposed budget for 2014.
7. Annual Meeting
Will be held on Wednesday, March 26, 2014 at 7:00 P.M. in the Silver Maple Senior’s Club room in the firehall. The storm date will be Thursday, March 27th.
8. Next Regular Council Meeting -Will be held on Wednesday March 12, 2014 at 7:00 P.M.
