1. OPENING MEETING
Mayor Albert Gallant called the meeting to order at 2:00 P.M.
Present:
Albert Gallant – Mayor
Allan Parks – Deputy Mayor
Michelle Perry- Administrator
Stephen Yeo- Department of Transportation
The meeting was to find out if the road could be changed to allow speed bumps on Wilfred St as there seems to be a lot of reports of speeders in the community. And the focus is Wilfred St as there is a lot of children on the street and there are no sidewalks. The community did recently purchase lawn signs that say slow down. Stephen advised that since Wilfred St is a local road , and they only can put speed bumps in subdivision. And no one will be changing the rule as this is something that would have to be done nationally. He did suggest that they do a radar speed check to see what the average speed is on Wilfred St and that they can paint white lines 8″on each side of the road till about 61 Wilfred St.
He also advised that we put something out to the public about the speeding and not to contribute to it.
It was also asked if a sign can be put up on Lady Slipper next to the Skate Park for the Kids Crossing the St to get to the sidewalk. Stephen said that he will get a sign put up.
