Re: “Eddie Laughlin” Memorial Service Person of the Year Award
1. OPENING OF MEETING
Vice-Chairperson Ivan Blanchard called the meeting to order at 4:30 P.M.
Present:
Ivan Blanchard – Vice-Chairperson
John Gillis – Councilor
Ben Murphy – Councilor
Mike MacKinnon – Councilor
Judy Gallant – Administrator
Absent: Peter Mallett – Chairperson and Joan Arsenault – Councilor.
2. REVIEW OF NOMINATIONS SUBMITTED
The following names were submitted for the 2013 “Eddie Laughlin” Memorial Service
Person of the Year Award:
– St. John the Baptist Adult Choir members – Bernadette Gaudet, Elmer Gaudet, Millie
Gaudet, Louise Gallant, Freddie Arsenault, Julia Albert, Olive Allain, Jimmie Gaudet, Richard
Gauthier and Ann Marie Gaudet.
– Julia Albert
– Elva Arsenault
– Patsy Arsenault
Following review of the names and supporting letters submitted:
MOTION moved by John Gillis, seconded by Ben Murphy and carried,
THAT Julia Albert be selected as the recipient of the ‘2013′ “Eddie
Laughlin” Service Person of the Year Award for her service to the residents
of Miscouche.
Ivan will make arrangements to have Julia Albert’s name added to the Eddie Laughlin plaque as well as have an individual keep sake plaque prepared for Julia Albert. Presentation of the plaque will take place at the Church Picnic to be held on Sunday, August 11, 2013
