Special Council Meeting
July 18, 2013
1. OPENING OF MEETING
Vice-Chairperson, Ivan Blanchard, called the meeting to order at 4:30 P.M.
Present:
Ivan Blanchard – Vice-Chairperson
Joan Arsenault – Councilor
John Gillis – Councilor
Mike MacKinnon – Councilor
Judy Gallant – Administrator
Absent: Peter Mallett – Chairperson, Ben Murphy – Councilor
2. Maintenance Storage Building – Tenders
Ivan presented the six tenders which were submitted for the construction of an 18′ x 28′
storage building to be erected at the back of the firehall. The six tenders submitted were:
– GIA Ltd.
– D.M. DesRoches Enterprises
– MacLellan Construction
– Mid-Isle Construction
– O.M.D. Construction
– BG Construction
Following review of the tenders submitted;
MOTION moved by John Gillis, seconded by Joan Arsenault and carried,
THAT the tender submitted by BG Construction in the total amount of
$17,208.00, which included taxes, be accepted for the construction of an
18′ x 28′ storage building.
Mike suggested that we use rigid foam insulation instead of the loose insulation. Ivan
advised that he will check with BG Construction to see what the additional cost would be to use rigid foam insulation instead of the loose type insulation.
